From a cephalopod infested future comes the next installation of Mindelixir’s sound: 2 heady bangers engineered to make make the liquor flow. This is glowing dance floor food. There’s a silky smooth liquid vibe here with plenty of stripped down, intricate 808 patterns and tom fills to make crowds sway like sea life. Why I’m Easy is an Atlantean Sci-Fi interpretation of UK Funky as produced by Too Short’s mutant cousin, Mindelixir.

The lead single (of the same name as the EP), “Why I’m Easy,” is a also a question posed by Schimel via a recurring vocal sample which responds - “I wanna be highhhhhh, sooooo highhhhh.” It’s almost a bittersweet declaration, despite the braggadocio. The same voice also informs us he has paid his dues, and with this record we tend to agree. This new batch of beats is leaner and more efficient, and enchants where dubstep bludgeons.

“Future” is a many tiered, elaborate construction with a seemingly endless array of drum machines and synth lines making short appearances before a calvacade of ingenious patterns reinvent themselves, like self constructing pyramids. The mid range bass plays a role, albeit a markedly subdued one in comparison to his older work, letting the percussion take center stage while harp like melodies cascade and soulful vocal snippets croon.

This is easily Mindelixir’s best effort to date. The future is bright for Schimel and we’re proud to present his latest offering!
